Summer Intern Program
Upbound Group’s 2026 Summer Intern Program offers an immersive professional development experience that goes beyond traditional internships. Participants will have a comprehensive opportunity to grow both personally and professionally through dynamic networking events, engaging volunteer activities, and exclusive executive leadership speaker sessions. Interns can expect a robust learning environment that balances structured training modules with self-paced learning pathways. This program enables interns to explore their potential, develop critical skills, and gain meaningful insights into corporate culture.
Program Dates
The ten-week program will run from June 1 through August 7, 2026. It is an in-office experience at the home office of Acima in Draper, Utah.
The Role
The Human Resources Intern will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the Human Resources Management function. This role will provide exposure to a wide variety of HR Generalist responsibilities, including talent management, performance development, organizational effectiveness, and HR project work. The intern will collaborate closely with HR Business Partners and business leaders, learning how HR supports the overall coworker experience and business strategy.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Partnering with HRBPs to provide support on day-to-day HR activities and employee inquiries
- Assisting with talent and performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback, and development planning
- Supporting HRBP-led initiatives around coworker engagement, recognition, and organizational culture
- Analyzing HR data and preparing reports or presentations to support business decision-making
- Contributing to ongoing HR projects, such as organizational design, change management, or policy/process improvement
- Collaborating with cross-functional partners to support HR programs and business priorities
- Participating in meetings with business leaders to observe and understand HR’s role in enabling business outcomes
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Human Resources or related major, with an expected graduation between December 2026 and May 2027
- Previous work or classroom experience in Human Resources Management is preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate across teams
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information responsibly
- Ability to work onsite at the Acima home office in Draper, Utah, Monday through Friday
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship. Upbound Group will not provide assistance or sign documentation for immigration sponsorship, including OPT or CPT.
Compensation
Summer Interns at Upbound Group are paid hourly in accordance with usual payroll procedures.
$22.00 per hour
