PITT OHIO, a $900 million, high service, highly profitable transportation solutions provider offering Supply Chain, LTL, and Truckload services, is seeking a Class A City Driver at our Williamsville, NY Terminal.
We offer overtime immediately after 40 hours worked.
Starting hourly rate of $32.35, moving to a top rate of $35.42 after 6 months.

Responsibilities:
- Drive a commercial vehicle safely while picking up and delivering general freight.
- Load and unload trailers, either individually or with assistance from dockworkers. Mechanical freight handling equipment may be used where available and appropriate.
- Perform frequent lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying of freight.
- Secure freight through strapping or other methods as required.
- Inspect the vehicle for defects and safe operating conditions as required by law and company policy.
- Comply with all federal requirements regarding the transportation of hazardous materials.
- Drive tractor/trailer in all conditions in accordance with federal regulations, adhering to hours of service limitations, followed by off-duty periods as required.
- Maintain records for compliance with state and federal regulations, including driver’s logs and other required documentation.
- Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations for the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
Qualifications:
- All city tractor trailer drivers must have two years of verifiable interstate driving experience or a minimum of one year of verifiable interstate driving experience plus a diploma from an approved driving school.
- All drivers must pass a PITT OHIO driving test administered by an approved trainer.
- Except sprinter truck drivers, all drivers are required to possess or obtain within 90 days a Haz-Mat and Tanker endorsement on their valid driver’s license issued by their resident state.
- Must possess only one valid driver’s license issued by the resident state. If recently transferred from another state, must provide license information or a copy of the former license for verification.
- Provide information on all previously held licenses within the past 36 months.
- No record of license suspension or revocation exceeding 30 days in the past 36 months.
- No serious traffic violations or patterns of violations in the past 60 to 36 months as specified.
- Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Must consent to a pre-employment drug screen with a negative result.
- PITT OHIO must receive a negative controlled substance and alcohol result from prior employers for the past three years.
- No prior refusal to submit to alcohol or controlled substance tests within the past 3 years.
- Must consent to a ten-year check on work history, with explanations for any gaps of 30 days or more.
- Ability to read, write, and perform simple mathematical calculations in English.
- Employment is at-will; nothing guarantees employment for any specific period.
- Effective January 6, 2020: All CDL drivers must register with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse at https://clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov/register.
