Opportunity
We are looking for a full-time Drug and Alcohol Collections Technician for our Occupational Health Clinic in Fairbanks, Alaska. This role is full-time, Monday-Friday. Travel is required to remote locations within Alaska for collections support.
The primary functions of this position include field and clinic drug and alcohol specimen collections on a daily and after-hours basis. The incumbent is responsible for performing collections utilizing a variety of methodologies, including urine, saliva, hair, and breath collections, in conjunction with calibrating and maintaining testing devices in accordance with all applicable regulations, laws, statutes, and policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinic, remote, and after-hours collections support for Beacon clients, including performing urine drug screen collections, oral fluids drug collections, rapid result drug tests, and breath alcohol tests.
- Perform general administrative tasks delegated by the Lead Tech and/or Clinical Services Director.
- Carry and answer the after-hours phone on a weekly rotation as scheduled to perform after-hours collections.
- Responsible for post-positive calibration of breath alcohol machines.
- Travel is required to remote locations within Alaska and the lower forty-eight states for collections support. Up to 50% of this position may include travel.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Work conditions involve significant time spent walking, standing, stooping, sitting, assisting with positioning patients, and some lifting.
