As a Licensed Hair Stylist at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, you will be responsible for providing guests with professional hair and makeup services at Tenaya Stone Spa. This includes consultations in the art of makeup application, as well as professional cuts, styles, and therapeutic treatments for hair.

Our Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Shifts may start as early as 6:00 AM and end as late as 10:00 PM.

Casual Regular Cast Members must be available to work on Friday evenings, have Saturday or Sunday availability, and be available to work all holidays and peak seasons.

Basic Qualifications

• You must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for this role.
• Previous experience in a Spa or Hotel environment.
• Ability to handle difficult/sensitive situations independently, while confidently utilizing service recovery methods.
• Must currently hold and maintain a state Cosmetologist or Barber license with the state of California.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent professional hair and makeup services in accordance with Tenaya Stone Spa protocols and accepted certification practices.
• Effectively perform all spa treatments and services as defined by the position.
• Have a broad understanding of color symmetry/coordination and the use of different textures (frost, shimmer, etc.).
• Ability to create a guest’s desired image for social events using different makeup colors, textures, and application techniques.
• Possess a technical understanding of product ingredients to avoid allergic reactions.
• Properly care for equipment and use the correct amounts of products to be cost-effective.
• Uphold sanitation and sterilization standards as directed by law and Tenaya Stone Spa policies and procedures.
• Perform prep work, and properly clean and restock the room as required.
• Actively promote spa treatments, services, sessions, retail products, and programs.
• Handle guest questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
• Provide accurate and immediate responses to guest requests to ensure complete satisfaction.
• Attend mandatory training to stay current with spa policies, procedures, and trends.
• Perform all hair and makeup services offered by Tenaya Stone Spa.

Compensation Details

The pay rate for this role in California is $20.42 per hour, plus commission and gratuities.
