Summary
The production planner for assembly supports Enerflex’s fabrication department in the creation and maintenance of production orders to support assembly dates and ensure on-time delivery of projects to our clients.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
- Review planned orders for material availability and prioritize production orders for release.
- Coordinate materials, capacity, and future work schedules to determine release volumes.
- Release, schedule, track WIP, and close production orders.
- Monitor and adjust release plans and priorities based on schedule adjustments.
- Track and prioritize rework requests and communicate material needs if necessary.
- Assign work to specific resources and schedule associated tasks, as necessary.
- Work closely with procurement to communicate material requirements and expedite, as necessary.
- Prepare production order shop papers for distribution to warehouse and shop supervisors.
- Maintain various data sets with hours, weld details, counts, etc., as necessary to support production.
- Cross train with other production planners, assembly planners, and project planners to provide coverage, as necessary.
- Document and maintain processes and procedures related to the planning function.
- Provide accurate and timely updates to project managers, management, and the assembly team.
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience planning and scheduling high volume, high mix fabricated components.
- Proficient with scheduling and planning tools such as MS Project & Excel.
- Proficient with ERP systems, such as SAP Project Systems (PS) and Production Planning (PP).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be dependable, highly motivated, self-directed, with attention to detail and great organizational skills, requiring minimal daily supervision.
Physical Requirements
Fast-paced general office environment and some industrial environment. This role involves some standing, bending, squatting, lifting, and walking. It may also require lifting, carrying, and moving items up to 50 lbs. Many tasks are time-sensitive and demand quick response.
