The Environmental Operations Operator with Tropicana Manufacturing Company is responsible for the smooth and safe operation of all systems in the wastewater plant, including but not limited to pumps, motors, chemical feed systems, and manual valves.

The worker is responsible for collecting and lab testing samples from the wastewater and plant areas. They must maintain accurate daily records and keep work areas clean and free of debris. Additionally, they are tasked with reporting equipment failures and issues to maintenance.

The position involves working a 12-hour shift on a 3-2-2-3 schedule (On Mon-Tues, Off Wed-Fri, On Sat-Sun, Off Mon-Tues, On Wed-Fri).

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintain Wastewater Operator License (C level or higher) according to State requirements
2. Complete yearly DOT Hazardous Materials Training within 2 months of hiring (for chemical handling)
3. Operate all systems in the wastewater plant safely
4. Perform sampling and analysis functions for process control of the wastewater plant
5. Input data and maintain documentation/recordkeeping (computer and official log book) to support process control and permit activities, including Title V and AOR (air related to flare), NPDES and DMR (River Discharge permit), and UIC (Underground injection wells permit)
6. Interface with maintenance operations for equipment startup/shutdown and repairs as needed
7. Resolve most questions/issues and refer complex issues to lead and/or supervisor
8. Maintain laboratory equipment and chemical supplies, and liaise with DEP regarding laboratory compliance
9. Perform special studies as required to ensure proper sample collection and lab testing reports
10. Support Capital and Expense projects with vendors, consultants, and internal management to address issues and improvements
11. Assist the department Safety team with periodic inspections, visitor and vendor sign-in logs, and 5S duties
12. Become proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Wonderware operations
13. Investigate wastewater issues (such as process upsets) and implement corrective measures
14. Communicate with other departments via radio and phone regarding wastewater issues
15. Capable of climbing stairs and ladders
16. Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
17. Able to work indoors and outdoors
18. Perform other duties as assigned by environmental operations management
